Austin Cycling Events Calendar

Welcome to the Austin on Two Wheels Calendar of Cycling Events

On any given day in Austin, there may be as many as 10 or more rides, races, or bike culture events. To help discover new cycling events, plan your racing schedule for the year, or find a last minute ride, we have put together this comprehensive calendar of all the cycling related events in and around Austin. We pull from calendars from groups like Austin Cycling Association and Violet Crown, bike shops, and race promotion sites as well as Tom Wald’s advocacy event calendar and Jason’s bike culture calendar at ATXBS.

We are constantly adding events to this calendar. If you have a cycling related event that you don’t see on here, contact us and we’ll add your event. Please include the date, time, location, cost, and contact info or website for the event.

NOTE ABOUT CATEGORIES

We currently have five event type categories to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Austin Bike Rides (Green Events)- These are non-competitive rides such as regular club, shop rides, and social rides. Just show up and ride. Registration or RSVP are not usually required for these rides but some clubs do require membership for insurance reasons. We try to indicate if they are road or mountain bike in the title.

Austin Charity & One Time Rides (Yellow Events)-  These are non-competitive rides that require registration such as charity rides, centuries, and gran fondos. Basically, events you must register for but there is no winner determined at the end of the ride. Almost all of these are road rides.

Austin Bike Races (Red Events)- These are competitive events where there is a winner determined at some point. We try to indicate if they are road, mountain, cyclocross, adventure, triathlon, or alley cat in the title.

Austin Bike Events (Blue Events)- These are events that are bike related but don’t include a ride or race and are not already listed on the Bike Notes calendar. Examples include bike-in movie, festivals, bike swaps, group meetings, and governmental hearings.

Bike Notes (Purple Events)- This is a calendar run by local cyclist Tom Wald that focuses on organizational meetings, bicycle advocacy events, and bike related governmental hearings. Tom covers a lot, but if its not on his calendar we try to put it under Austin Bike Events.

NOTE ON LOCATION IN TITLE

To make it easier for you to know where things are taking place without looking at event details, we start each event title with its general location. If its in Austin, we give you the general part of town. If its outside Austin, we just give you the name of the town. For rides and races, we give you the start location.
